The Center Ice Foundation in cooperation with The Daimler Group and the City of Reynoldsburg are undergoing an infill development project on roughly 15 acres which will include ice hockey, a fieldhouse sports complex, and a mixture of uses for commercial restaurant/retail, accommodations, and major medical providers.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Center Ice Foundation is excited to announce the formation of 256 Athletics, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the growth of youth athletics in our community.

Continuing their mission of expanding access to ice sports in Central Ohio, the Center Ice Foundation will award 6 merit-based scholarships to local youth hockey players.
"When we began our journey nearly 4 years ago, our goal was to expand access to ice sports in Central Ohio. And while our story has had many twists and turns, we've remained steadfastly committed to that mission. Our hope is that this scholarship both creates more opportunities for young people to play the sport that we all love, and also inspires ambassadors to, like us, change the world they live in."

Scholarship applications will be accepted from August 8th through August 30th, with recipients being notified by September 15th.

100% of the proceeds from this tournament will go towards the Center Ice Foundation of Central Ohio's Capital Campaign to build an ice rink on the east side.

In hockey, common battle cries are “one shift at a time” and “one game at a time.”
For the Center Ice Foundation of Central Ohio, the task of raising $8 million to bring an indoor facility with two regulation-sized ice rinks to Pickerington has been more like “one skate in front of the other.”
When Violet Township officials didn’t include an ice rink in plans for a $46 million community center -- a project that ultimately was soundly rejected by 82% of voters in May -- a group of parents formed the foundation with hopes of getting a hockey facility built by raising money privately.

Played in Central Ohio over a warm July weekend, this 3 vs. 3 format tournament is the perfect opportunity to throw a team together and hit the ice in the off-season! Four teams in each of 6 divisions (Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, High School & Adult) will be admitted on a first-come basis, with each team guaranteed 4 games (3 game round-robin; consolation & championship games).
